several frame options

Mount it, glue it, tack it, stick it, mat it or frame it… there are many options to display your personalized prints. In this post we’ll focus on framing and some of the most common places to buy frames in North America.

But first, if you are not sure which size is right for you, I’d like to help you… ↴

Visualize the sizes

I realize not everyone can accurately visualize the sizes of our prints before buying. To help you determine the best size option that fits your walls, look at the image below. Our model in this shot is approximately 5’6” tall.

The sizes are: SM – 11.25″ x 17.3″ | M – 18″ x 24″ | L – 24″ x 36″

And now to the fun part… ↴

Framing Options

Your choices are virtually limitless – you can shop local stores in your area or by sourcing local artists and woodworkers; repurpose frames found at thrift stores, flea markets or garage sales; shop at some common chain stores like Walmart, Michael’s, or Ikea; build your own frame or mounting for your print! Did I mention, that there’s this crazy thing called Amazon where you can find a plethora of frame shops and frame makers?!

If you’re looking for some displaying ideas, look through our Wall Décor magazine and our Look Books or check out some of the lifestyle and home décor blogs that have featured our prints.

Now that you know where to look, let’s show you a few examples of framing and display.

11.25” x 17.3” Prints

Don’t let these funky looking numbers fool you. 11” x 17” is a common frame size in North America and most frames have a bit of a “wiggle room”. That’s because a lot of frames are designed to cover part of the image so that you don’t see its edges. Makes sense! If you happen to have a frame with no room for movement, you’ll simply need to cut a sliver off your print. This is why we never get too close to the edge with any important components of the art.

The really fun part with this size? There are many sizes of frames that are very close to 11” x 17” such as 11” x 14”, 10” x 13”, etc. A lot of our prints show what alternate sizes of frames are available for them, either in the images or the description for each product. The best example of that is our Words Of Wisdom collection and the image below shows you how ONE PRINT can be framed in many different ways. *Note this will hold true for all prints in Words Of Wisdom collection but refer to other products individually for their framing options. If unsure, contact us!

The most commonly purchased size of our personalized prints, and rightly so, as it’s a great size for so many different ways of display! Looks fantastic on mantles, great within a gallery wall, in the hallway, or in the office.

And if you are still wondering… ↴

Why are Jibe Prints sold unframed?

There are 3 main reasons for this:

#1 – MORE CHOICES FOR YOU – we love curation as much as we love personalization so we wanted to give you the freedom to choose a frame that will fit your home and thus, you obviously can shop anywhere you like and have more choices available to you than we could ever provide!

#2 – LOWER PRICES – there is no handling and framing on our part, meaning less markup cost to you! Not to mention your print will weigh close to nothing so we can keep your shipping cost low!

#3 – FASTER TURNAROUND AND SHIPPING – your print is shipped as soon as it’s produced! You don’t have to wait for us to be the middle man in receiving, framing and re-packaging!

Until next time…

Keep curating and personalizing your home!
