Welcome to Cocker Spaniel Rescue Of New England. CSRNE is one of the oldest and largest cocker rescue groups in the country. We are composed of many volunteers throughout New England dedicated to rescuing and placing homeless cocker spaniels.
Since our inception in 1987 hundreds of abandoned or unwanted cockers found homes with caring, loving families. By networking with animal shelters, other rescue groups, and veterinarians CSRNE has saved, improved, and extended the lives of one of America’s most popular breeds.
Your donations make it possible for us to give needy cockers the care they need before we can place them in their forever home. Your support gives these cockers a second chance for a long and happy life.

COVID and Cocker Rescue
March 2020 – June 2021
During the COVID pandemic, we experienced a significant decrease in the number of cocker spaniels who needed our rescue services.
Many of the dogs we take in, care for and rehome come to us from people who are moving and can not take their dogs with them to their mew living situations. This lifestyle change came to an abrupt halt during the pandemic. People just stopped moving and stayed home for over a year.
However, things are beginning to change. We are getting more calls from owners, shelters and veterinarians to rescue and rehome cockers but the requests to adopt a cocker spaniel still outnumber the dogs available for adoption.
Over the past months, we have received many excellent calls and applications to adopt a cocker. We have reviewed these applications and put them in a waiting list file. If you have already sent in an adoption questionnaire and restraint agreement and want to reaffirm your desire to adopt, please email us at [email protected] or leave a message at 603-547-3363.
If you are interested in adopting and can be patient, please do fill out the adoption questionnaire and restraint agreement on our website (APPLY TO ADOPT (csrne.org)) and mail it to the address on the questionnaire.
Because of the still-limited number of dogs available for adoption and the number of people on our waiting list we are not yet posting adoptable dogs on our website. We hope this will change soon. We will continue to post cockers that need foster care (senior cockers, cockers with health issues) and bonded pairs that must be adopted together.
All of us at CSRNE are very grateful for your support, patience, understanding and your desire to adopt a cocker who needs to be rehomed. Your donations, lovely notes and letters, photos and emails have helped us to remain optimistic, pay the bills and hope for better days to come. Thank you! You have made a difficult situation so much easier to get through.

Pepper found his Forever Home!
A huge “thank you” to all CSRNE supporters. You make it possible for us to help those neglected and homeless cocker spaniels move on to their forever homes. Thank you to all of you from all of us at CSRNE.
ATTENTION! We are receiving calls on our hotline from cell phones and some of these messages are incomplete. We are, at times, unable to hear all of the digits in the return phone number. When leaving messages on our hotline, please speak slowly, very clearly, and repeat your phone number several times. If you do not hear from us within 2 business days, please call back.
Updated or new email addresses needed. If you have changed your email address (or added a new email address) within the past year please send CSRNE a note giving your name, old email address, and new email address. We are striving to keep our database up to date. Email your note to: [email protected]
