creating before and after photos | Topdeblogs

When it comes to your DIY projects, is there anything more effective than a Before and After image? Whether it’s a fixer upper, a hair and beauty makeover, upcycling furniture, or an edited photo – there’s something about a visual comparison that makes us feel so proud of how far we’ve come. It also comes as no surprise that these types of images perform so well on blogs and across social media, but let’s not deny it: creating them can be fiddly and time-consuming.

How to Make a Before and After Image

Ready to make your own Before and After image? To begin, head to BeFunky’s Collage Maker, then navigate to Layouts in the main menu to the left. Select Grid, then choose a layout to work with.

Firstly, we’re going to insert our before and after images into our template. To do this, click on Image Manager and upload your chosen images from your Computer. Alternatively, you can click the three dots next to Computer to upload images from your BeFunky account, Facebook, or Google Photos.

Once your images are in the Image Manager, just drag and drop each one into your collage template.

If you want to edit any of your images in the Photo Editor (i.e. to make them brighter, crop them, fix a blemish, etc.), then just right-click on the image and select Edit Image, followed by Open Image in Editor. Once you’ve finished editing the image, simply click Back to Collage Maker.

You can also resize your template, including making it taller or wider, by dragging the template’s perimeter outwards (to make larger) or inwards (to make smaller) with your mouse.

Want to adjust the spacing of your collage? Just navigate to Customize in the main menu to the left and adjust the slider underneath Spacing.

Additionally, in the Customize tab, you can adjust the Width and Height of your collage to specific pixels, if needed, as well as adjust the roundness of your collage’s corners.

One of the last steps is to add some ‘Before’ and ‘After’ text to our images. To do this, click on Text in the main menu to the left (the ‘A’ symbol), followed by Add Text. This will insert a text box into your collage, which you can double-click and type in your own text. You can also drag it into place using your mouse.

When you click on the text box, a Text Properties toolbar will also appear. From here, you can edit the Font, Size, Color, Spacing, Background, and more.

We’ve added a light pink colored background on our text box to help make the wording pop.

Pro Tip: Want to create a text box with the exact same style and colors as your previous one? Just right-click the text box you wish to copy, then select Duplicate Item. Then, double-click to type new text.

Finally, all that’s left to do is to save your Before and After image so it’s ready to share on your blog, social media, or anywhere else! Click Save at the top of the screen, then click on your desired Save location.
